(An extension of the Antenatal Programme at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital)

Part 1 – A Strong Marriage To Welcome Your Newborn
Venue:  Patient Education Centre, Level 1 (next to McDonald's),
               KK Women's and Children's Hospital
You were couples first before you became parents. Being a parent does not mean that you are no longer husband and wife. The couples come together to connect as couples in the similar stage as expectant parents. There will be discussions on decision-making and positive communication styles for couples, as well as staying as best friends and lovers even after the arrival of the baby.
 
·         Feelings about pregnancy & parenthood
·         Decision-making for parents-to-be
·         Helpful communication skills for decision-making
·         Common negative communication patterns
·         Nurturing your marriage
 
Part 2 – Parenting Right From The Start
Venue: Blk 128A, Lorong 1 Toa Payoh #01-01 Singapore 311128
The baby will be arriving soon and the transition from man and wife to daddy and mummy will be a reality soon. It will help to build a foundation of understanding your duties, roles and commitment to your baby. Fathers are parents too and shared responsibility is essential to fully benefit the baby by understanding you newborns signs and signals.

·         Understanding the baby’s world (Infant States, Infant Behavior, Infant Cues and State
          Modulation)
·         Surviving the transition into parenthood
·         Parenting Commitment
 
Date:      Saturday, 8 May & 15 May 2010 or 12 June & 19 June 2010
 
Time:      1.30 pm – 4.30 pm
 
Fee:        $30 per couple (Non KKH patients)
               $20 per couple (KKH patients)
